you can't visit west hollywood without a stop to check on the La Brea Tar Pits. my mom called and asked if the smell was putting mara into labor.

I am so proud that you took Mama Martinez to my favorite vacation destination, the La Brea tar pits. There's something special about the smell of La Brea tar curing in the LA heat; reminds me of my summer job driving that road roller over the freshly laid asphalt when I was in High School. Driving that roller sure beat holding that stupid red flag and slowing down traffic, and it made me appreciate how badly I wanted a baby boy named Joey!
